1977 Kansas City - Theological Symposia
The decision to sponsor Theological Symposia was made at the Kansas City Conference in 1977. The purpose of each Symposium is to study an area of interest to the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. Persons who have expertise in the field of the topic being studied and who can provide scriptural, theological, historical or pastoral reflection are invited to the symposia as presenters. Each presenter submits a paper on a designated aspect of the topic being studied. These papers are sent to the participants to be read before the Symposium. Dues-paying members who cannot attend the Symposium are also sent a copy of these papers. Those attending the Symposium, in addition to the presenters, are given the opportunity to make brief comments related to the paper. All present then have the opportunity to respond to the papers, and to interact with one another. Reflections from the Symposium are shared with all other liaisons in the newsletter. Some symposium papers have been published. Many papers can be downloaded through the ADL website.
